The best of both worlds.
Ever since Sudoku gained popularity in the mid-2000s, many have attempted to create hybrids and spin-offs in hopes of sparking the next big craze—yet none have truly caught on. One interesting example is Kenichi Futamura's Crossword Sudoku (2010), a unique twist on the classic puzzle. You can get a taste of Crossword Sudoku in this week's Bulletin. Meanwhile, our MIT Sudoku Open series continues with Steering Wheel Sudoku, and rounding out the page is a Nurikabe by Sakulbuth Ekvittayaniphon.
